About
"The sound of the City", loud and clear.” This energetic 3 piece deliver a slice of city life that is edgy, ambitious and dynamic.
Meretto formed in Reading in 2003 and have since moved to London, the city which inspired their debut album "Chainsaw Art" (2005), produced by John Mitchell (It Bites, Kino, Arena and The Urbane).
Stu Bell (guitar and vocals) and Matt Burgess (bass and vocals), Meretto’s key members, have been playing together since secondary school. The band have come a long way since their earliest incarnation as a two piece and a drum machine - four drummers later they regularly play live and record as a three piece with session drummer, Steve Hughes.
Meretto have been playing numerous gigs around London over the last year culminating with an outstanding headlining show at the Barfly in October 2008. The band has had a very positive reaction, and “A Kiss” the forthcoming single has become a real crowd pleaser.
Meretto are currently mixing the next album “Tales of Urban Survival” due for release in March/April 2009 through their own label RockPopRecords. “A Kiss” and another stand-out track, “A Method of Urban Survival”, will be released as singles preceding this. The album’s production is a collaboration between John Mitchell, Simon Hanhart and Meretto and promises to be exciting.
See Meretto live at these gigs.
